[ Anyone who Rikka-chan loves this much had better love her right back! ]

I'm always proud of Mana. [And there's that dreamy look in her eyes.] She's going to be the prime minister someday... ... Do you have someone special like that, Kenjou-san?

[chiencolat]

[ --The juxtaposition makes Akira envision Kotozume Yukari, Prime Minyaster. ]

--I...do, but....

[ WHY IS SHE SUDDENLY AFRAID FOR THE NATION ]

[clear_eyes]

... What? What's wrong? [Rikka honestly looks confused.]

[chiencolat]

...Nothing. Sleep deprivation.

[ Ohohohohoho, laughs Prime Minyaster Yukari, as the capitol building is overrun with cats and whimsy. Akira shakes her head, clearing it, and smiles. ]

I do have one. A special person.

She's really unlike anybody else.

[clear_eyes]

[Rikka isn't convinced, but she smiles from ear to ear anyway.] That's how I feel about Mana! ... I just wish... that I knew how to let her know that.

[chiencolat]

You haven't told her your feelings?

[ Akira sounds concerned. That's...got to be hard. Caring for someone that deeply without them realizing it. ]

[clear_eyes]

... I've never figured out how to. To be honest, Mana has so much love for everyone, I feel like I'd be tying her down. [She sighs.] That's not on her. It's all on me. I'm not that courageous a person...

[chiencolat]

[ Akira thinks this over. ]

This might not be something I have any right to say. But if Mana-chan's heart is that big, then it's got room for lots of different kinds of love, I'd think. And would welcome new kinds.

[ Like that kind that makes someone unable to leave you alone. Or the kind that wants to be closer to people, but doesn't know how.

...Yeah. Akira does know about both of those kinds. ]

Even one that's...unlike...the ones she's felt before. If anything, discovering a new kind of love has been this close all along would probably make her really happy.

[ Akira looks down at her bonbons, closes them up. Got to savor these. ]

Love isn't something you can run out of, after all.

[clear_eyes]

[Rikka winces. Alice and Makoto have both told her this over the years. She really has no one to blame but herself.] What if I'm too late? What if there's someone else who's... important to her like that? [A red ribbon, and a head of long, blonde hair loom heavily in her mind. She's never asked either of them, but Rikka has always been her own worst enemy.]

[chiencolat]

Then it'll hurt.

[ Softly, sympathetically. People don't have to have just one most precious person, because all kinds of love exist. Some people, Akira has even found, are okay with having more than one precious person in the same kind of love. Yet Rikka doesn't sound like that's her.

Still. Still, to just take herself out of the running without even trying the race--!! ] But....aren't you hurting yourself now, out of fear of that hurt?

[clear_eyes]

... My best friends have said that. And now you have two. [She sighed.] Am I really that easy to see through?

[chiencolat]

More like you have lots of people watching you who care about you.

[ Can she reach your head? ]

There, there, Rikka-chan.

[clear_eyes]

... [Rikka feels embarrassed now, but she tries not to let it overwhelm her.] I've always been like this. There was a time I was willing to sacrifice myself so Mana could achieve something. I only survived because I trusted her. That must seem really foolish, doesn't it?

[chiencolat]

Where's the foolishness in loving someone?

[ Stay long enough around Akira and you will get patted on the head. It is a geologic certainty. ]

But I do think Mana-chan would be happiest having you around, so keep that in mind for the future, okay?

[clear_eyes]

... I guess I do get after her enough for being so self-sacrificing. [She smiles.] Thank you, Kenjou-san. I'll try to say something to her soon.

[chiencolat]

Though, I guess this exam comes first....

... The exam! I forgot! [She looks back at her text books frantically.] I forgot my place!

[ Akira has lost her place, too. She flips back a few pages, figuring she'll get context and catch up. ]

Let's both work hard, Rikka-chan.

[clear_eyes]

It's okay, we haven't lost too much time... we just need to laser focus until the very end! [Rikka is already starting from the beginning. She can read pretty fast...]

[ And so will she, she supposes. Okay, let's get this down... ]

[ A hand making the OK sign rises above the stack of books.

There are lots of people who are cheering both of them on. So they need to do their best to support each other. ]
